How to reorder, rotate and delete PDF pages

Put scanned pages in the right order, turn sideways pages upright, remove pages you do not need and add blank pages, pages from another PDF or photos — all from the page thumbnails.

Do it now in the free PDF editorOpens in your browser. No sign-up, no watermark — your PDF is never uploaded.

Organize PDF pages in four steps

  1. Open the PDF editor and choose your PDF. Page thumbnails appear on the left (tap Pages on a phone).
  2. Drag a thumbnail up or down to move the page.
  3. Use the buttons on a thumbnail, or in the bar above the page, to rotate left, rotate right or delete it. To add pages, point between two thumbnails and click the + that appears (or the + on a thumbnail), then choose a blank page, pages from a PDF, or an image.
  4. Click Download to save the reorganized PDF.

Common tasks

Fix a scan with pages in the wrong order

Scanning a double-sided document often produces all the front pages first and the back pages after them. Drag each back page up below its front page; the page numbers under the thumbnails update as you go.

Turn landscape pages upright

Rotate a sideways table or chart with the rotate buttons. The page keeps its rotation in the saved file, so it opens the right way in every PDF reader.

Add space for notes or a signature

Insert a blank page and use the Text, Draw or Sign tools on it like on any other page.

Combine two PDFs

Open the first PDF, click the + after its last page and choose Pages from a PDF. The pages of the second file are added at the end, and the result is saved as one PDF. Use the + between other pages to put them anywhere else, for example an appendix after page 3.

Add a photo or a scan as a page

Choose Image as a page to add a JPG, PNG, HEIC or WebP picture. It is placed on a new A4 page that matches the orientation of the image, as a normal image item, so you can make it smaller, move it or add text next to it.

Every page action can be undone with Ctrl+Z, so it is safe to experiment.

Frequently asked questions

Are deleted pages really removed?

Yes. Deleted pages are left out of the saved file completely, together with everything on them.

Does rotating a page lose quality?

No. Rotation changes how the page is displayed; the content itself is not re-rendered, so text and images stay exactly as sharp.

Can I reorder pages with the keyboard?

Yes. Focus a thumbnail and press Alt+Up or Alt+Down to move the page. Up and Down alone move between pages, and Delete removes the focused page.

What happens to my edits when I move a page?

They move with it. Text, signatures, highlights and shapes belong to their page, and rotating a page rotates them along with it.

Can I add pages from another PDF?

Yes. Click the + between two thumbnails, choose Pages from a PDF and pick the file. All its pages are inserted at that spot, and you can then reorder, rotate or delete them like the others. You can also drop PDF files straight onto the +.

Why can’t I delete the last page?

A PDF needs at least one page. Insert a blank page first if you want to replace the only page.
